The Pennsylvania State University, College of Health and Human Development seeks nominations and applications for the position of Professor and Head of the Department of Nutritional Sciences. Nutrition has been a part of the curriculum at Penn State for over 100 years and, based on NRC rankings and Elsevier SciVal bibliometrics, is one of the premier programs in nutritional sciences in the nation. Programmatic activities span the spectrum from basic science to application in clinical, community, and global settings. The head will have administrative responsibility for all operational, fiscal and procedural actions associated with the department and will represent the department on the Executive Committee of the College of Health and Human Development (HHD).

Candidates should have an earned doctorate, a successful record of extramurally funded research, demonstrated experience in teaching, and must be qualified for appointment at the rank of professor. Demonstrated leadership and management skills are a prerequisite with some past experience in budget management, strategic planning, and developing programming to foster an inclusive environment is preferred. Familiarity with the requirements of an accredited educational program in dietetics is preferred.
